Fiberactions Challenge Quilt - Nocturnal Business

Fiberactions Challenge Quilt - Nocturnal Business 20" x 18"

The challenge was to use two colors chosen using your initials (I chose Kiwi and Magenta) and black.
I loved this challenge, the limitation was good for me. I used Vicki Welsh's hand dyed fabrics for the butterfly and the stem. I fussy cut both to maximize the design in the dye.
The magenta I dyed. The funny thing is the piece of fabric is poorly dyed with messy splotches of red and blue and these little gems of magenta in between.

I used Aurifil 50 wt cotton for all of the applique and quilting, the variegated green was perfect for the feet and antennae.

I used a kiwi green Smooch paint applicator and magenta acrylics to paint the wings/body.

Murphy Bag iPad Case

My client in Florida had a brilliant idea to use up some of the gorgeous leftovers from her commissioned Murphy Bags; she had me make her 24 different cloth napkins! I used my serger to finish the edges, I used black thread.
Such a good idea!

Below are a couple of new iPad cases I was commissioned to make. I've added the option for a custom ordered iPad case to my etsy shop . You tell me what you'd like for colors and I'll make it for you, $35 plus shipping.

I had fun with the stained glass fabric using a focus color on each side. They have a divided pocket inside to keep your cord, headphones, stylus and iPhone/cell phone.
