Slice House Quilt made for a friend

A group of us made another slice house quilt for a dear, dear friend who moved away. Our friend Susan was the best and we were so sad to see her go.
Made by Joyce Gilmore, Sue Pelland Suzanne Thibeault, Kathy Sperino, Sharon Morris and myself

We surprised her with the quilt at our Guild Getaway! She is the kindest and it felt good to do something special for her.

Her friend Suzanne added the weeping cherry tree that had been special to Susan - a gift planted to honor her Mom.

There are terrific 3D elements on the quilt; french knots, fussy cut leaves and threadplay shrubs are a few examples.

We added a fun border that tied the quilt together.

Awesome details added by everyone, check out the shadows and windows.

Kathy Sperino did an amazing job on the quilting, it added great texture and helped blend the blocks.

This is the photo we used for inspiration. She had beautiful gardens all over the property, we tried to add a bit of that to the quilt.
